Working with the Y has given me the opportunity to work on a hugely wide variety of projects. This year, I was tasked with wrapping the bus used for the Aurora YMCA's teen and youth programs. Juggling the Y's brand guidelines - including the friendly, rounded typeface, Cachet, and bright color palette - with graphics that would appeal to Generation Z was challenging, especially for my first vehicle wrap project.

I took inspiration from the concept of both physical forward momentum of the bus itself and that of the Y programs propelling the teens into to brighter futures. From community service projects to youth leadership development programs, these kids are leading their city toward a better tomorrow. My goal was to give them a colorful, vibrant bus they'd be excited to climb aboard each week.

To format the design for our print vendor, I converted the bus' CAD illustrations to vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator. After changing some of the panels to more accurately reflect the vehicle measurements, I overlaid the CAD illustrations with my design and worked with the vendor to make sure the files were ready to print. I also communicated with our installation vendor to ensure the proper placement of the Y logo and text.
